The mission of the Little Loomhouse is to promote the Lou Tate landmark home and center for textile art and education as a cultural destination through preservation of the three historic cabins and education of textile folk art for all ages.

- The Little Loomhouse is located at 328 Kenwood Hill Road in the Kenwood Hill neighborhood of South Louisville.
- The Little Loomhouse is typically open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and the third Saturday of each month 10:00 AM-3:30PM. Because we are operated by a strictly volunteer staff, we ask that you call in advance to ensure that someone is there to greet you.
- Individuals, school and group tours available by appointment
- Drop-in visitors are welcome during regular hours
- Tour costs – $3.50 each – free for members (show membership card)
- Individual piece weaving also available for $10.00 each
- Group rates (10 or more) $7.50 each
Basket Making Class
We will be having a Basket Making Class at the Little Loomhouse! Make your very own Easter Basket Saturday March 31, 201210am – 2pm. You may stay later to tour Loomhouse after the class. Instructor: Susan Kute. Cost: $40, includes basket supplies. Class is limited to 8 students. Tools you will need to bring: bucket for
water, pinch clothes pins, pencil, tape measure, kitchen scissors. You may bring bag lunch & drink if desired. Contact Susan Kute at susanscorner1@hotmail.com

Spin A Yarn Storyteller Auditions
On Saturday, March 3rd, 11:00 AM, the Little Loomhouse will be holding auditions for storytellers, for the 2012 Little Loomhouse, Spin A Yarn Storytelling Festival at the St. Thomas More Church gymnasium, located at 6105 South 3RD Street. Auditions will be 8-10 minutes each – stories should be family oriented.
Spin A Yarn Storytelling Festival
The 2012 Spin A Yarn Storytelling Festival will be held at the Little Loomhouse, Saturday, June 2nd, 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Park at DeSales High School and ride the TARC Trolley to the Little Loomhouse for an afternoon of fun. Our website and Facebook page will have updates on this annual event as they are available.
Spring Weaving with Sally Moss at the Little Loomhouse
SPRING WEAVING CLASS 03/20/2012-05/22/2012 – Sally Moss, longtime student of Lou Tate, will be offering a 10 week class for beginners or returning weavers at the Little Loomhouse. Choose your project -scarves, table runners, etc. Taught on our Lou Tate Looms- operate the same as the larger looms. Tuesdays, 6:00 pm to 8:00 Tuition is $150.00. Limited Edition Mighty Oaks Shuttles
The Little Loomhouse is proud to offer a limited edition shuttle made from the old growth wood of one of the Mighty Oaks that once stood next to the Esta cabin, at the Little Loomhouse. Through this special offer, you now have the opportunity to own a piece of Little Loomhouse history.
These shuttles are hand made by Master Wood Crafter, Orville Moss. Each one is stamped with the Little Loomhouse brand. They are available in the following sizes, while supplies last:

All sizes are a flat rate of $15 and are available in the Little Loomhouse gift shop or by mail order. Please add $3.50 shipping and handling for mail order.
A VIEW FROM THE TOP, THE NEIGHBORHOODS OF IROQUOIS PARK AND KENWOOD HILL
Just in time for Christmas, the Little Loomhouse has received a 3rd printing of the popular, Kentucky Historical Society award winning book, A View from the Top, the Neighborhoods of Iroquois Park and Kenwood Hill. Pick up your copy at the Little Loomhouse today! All proceeds go to the Little Loomhouse.
SELF GUIDED HISTORIC WALKING TOUR OF IROQUOIS AND KENWOOD HILL
The Little Loomhouse was awarded a grant from the Kentucky Historical Society and matching funds from Councilman Dan Johnson to develop a self guided walking tour booklet, which incorporates the historic sites and points of interest, of the neighborhood. Now, the booklet is complete and available for a minimum donation of $1.00, to the Little Loomhouse. The booklet includes historic facts about the area and many, never before seen pictures from private collections. Pick up your copy at the Little Loomhouse.
